I am a researcher and filmmaker focusing on the topics of media, technology, and the impact of new technologies on the Chinese society. Currently working as an Assistant Professor at the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong. I received my M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in East Asian Studies at Princeton University. I also completed a Master course in Cinematic Arts at Art-on-the-run Film School in Berlin, Germany. Previously I have taught at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In 2020, I founded the "Digital Communities in China" (DCC) research group with a group of young Communication and Media Studies researchers. We conduct research on the impact of communication technologies on contemporary Chinese society.
